makes, mixes, and records sounds. He is a teacher, filmmaker, and musician. Recently, he’s worked as a location sound mixer on the short Snugglr released on Conde Nast’s The Scene. He was also the sound mixer for the Emmy-nominated web series Brown Girls. With his group Whatever Spectrum, he created the soundtrack for two seasons of the Gotham Award-nominated web series You’re So Talented. At Sullivan High School in Rogers Park, he’s a technology coordinator by day, a digital media instructor and poetry teacher by afterschool.
is a teacher, musician, writer, and filmmaker. At Sullivan High School, a neighborhood Chicago public high school in Rogers Park, she founded the Digital Media Lab where she teaches filmmaking, digital media, and poetry. She worked with a group of young people that she met through Chicago Filmmakers’ LGBTQI+ Youth Media Program to co-found the Queer Film Club. The group created the short film, Rabbits, which Samantha wrote, directed, and produced. She has taught media, art, and media studies for over 17 years in grammar schools, high schools, and community-based organizations around Chicago, including at Street Level Youth Media, Free Spirit Media, and ChiARTS High School. She co-executive produced the Tribeca Film Festival recognized and Gotham Award nominated web series You’re So Talented. She also composed music for the series with her group Whatever Spectrum. She was the recipient of the Chicago Digital Media Production Fund grant for Raina’s Not Here, a short film she directed in Ghana. She also received funding grant money via Propellor Fund and Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) for her upcoming project, a comedy about high school. She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute and has her graduate degree in Art Education from Columbia College Chicago.
